Mechanicsburg – Williams Grove Speedway will present a Kids Night program of racing with 410 sprint and URC 360/358 sprint racing on Friday, August 23 at 7:30 pm. The night will be special for the Williams Grove youth who can gather before the races and during the show for games and prizes and activities in the speedway infield. A sprint car driver autograph session for the kids will take place in the infield beginning at 5:30 pm.

Other activities for the kids during the night will include face painting, air-filled bounce amusement rides and bicycle and big wheel races. Racing action on the track will include full programs of heat and feature races for the twin sprint divisions. Along with the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints, in action will be the United Racing Company sprints in a challenge event with the regular Williams Grove 358 sprint cars. For this night and all others, ages 12 and under are always admitted free at Williams Grove Speedway.

Mark Smith won $4,000 in the recent Williams Grove URC 360/358 sprint nationals held at the track back on August 2. The URC portion of the show will include heats and a 25-lap feature event while the 410 sprints will race in a 25-lap main that pays bonus and lap money as well. The night will also serve to honor fallen Williams Grove and URC champion Kramer Williamson, who passed away in early August. There will be a silent auction to benefit the Williamson family and Williamson’s No. 73 sprint car will be on display.

The Williams Grove Saturday Series will be in action at the oval on August 24 featuring super sportsman, 358 late models and street stocks at 6:30 pm. Friday night action returns to the oval on August 30 with the Jack Gunn Memorial for the 410 sprints plus sidewinder sprints and a fireworks display. The race will be part of the 2013 Diamond Series at the track.
