Rilat Focuses on Oil City Cup at Castrol Raceway with World of Outlaws
Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Aug. 19, 2013) – After taking the last couple of weeks off, Travis Rilat is ready to return to the cockpit of Richard Saumure’s sprint car.
The duo will pair up on Friday and Saturday at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will tackle the annual Oil City Cup.
“I’m excited to get back out there and see what Richard, the crew and I can put together against the Outlaws,” Rilat said. “We had a solid showing last year at that event.”
Rilat finished ninth in the opener last season before rallying from 19th to finish 10th and earn the KSE Hard Charger Award during the finale at the 3/8-mile oval.
He has competed twice at Castrol Raceway this season – both in July. Rilat claimed the opening night of the 59th annual Gold Cup before taking the challenge and maneuvering from 14th to second during the Race of Champions.
“We get around that track pretty well,” he said. “Obviously the World of Outlaws are the best in the business so I’m ready to see how we match up.”
In 18 races this season, Rilat and Saumure have teamed up for four victories and 12 top-five finishes.
