FOREST, Ohio (June 21, 2021) – One of the most competitive stretches on the USAC National Sprint Car Series schedule, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports spent the last six days in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic, joining USAC for its annual Eastern Storm invasion that features the best-of-the-best of non-wing racing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The five-race turned four-race venture, losing the Port Royal Speedway stop to Mother Nature, had its ups and downs for Westfall and the “Bumblebee Express” No. 33M, eventually ending the trip with one top-ten finish, that accomplished during Grandview Speedway’s Eastern Storm opener on June 15.

In addition to his top-ten at Grandview, initiated by the third-fastest time during qualifying time trials,  Westfall finished 22nd at Bridgeport Motorsports Park on June 16, 13th at Selinsgrove Speedway on June 17, and 15th at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway to cap the trip on Sunday, June 20.

“It was a fun, but competitive week. I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team for giving us the opportunity to go out there and race the Eastern Storm. It’s a demanding section of the schedule, but I don’t think we would want it any other way,” Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “A lot of late nights and early mornings, but we’re ready to do it again.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will resume USAC competition on Thursday through Saturday, July 1-3, with a holiday weekend triple-header in the Hoosier State. Action will kick-off at Plymouth Speedway on Thursday, followed by the two-day Bill Gardner Sprintacular at Lincoln Park Speedway on Friday and Saturday.
