FOREST, Ohio (April 5, 2021) – Battling head-to-head with the best that non-wing sprint car competition has to offer, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports made the tow to the high-paced Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, during the recent weekend, joining the USAC National Sprint Cars for Lawrenceburg’s season opener on Saturday, April 3.

It was a hard-fought campaign on Lawrenceburg’s highbanks, and although Westfall was forced to settle with an 18th-place feature score, earning a spot in the 30-lap contest after a third-place run during USAC’s consolation semi-feature, Westfall and Ray Marshall now have a stout notebook, which they will put to good use during their return to the greater Cincinnati venue on Saturday, April 10.

“It wasn’t the overall result we wanted, but we learned some things. That’s all you can do on nights like that; take the positives and work hard to improve,” Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M Bumblebee Express. “We have a long season ahead. Ray Marshall provides our team with the equipment necessary to be competitive and win races. We’ll have this ‘33M’ back to the front in no time.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a two-day swing through the Hoosier State, first setting aim on a Friday night visit to Kokomo Speedway on April 9, followed by the aforementioned return to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, April 10.

A big night for the team in terms of exposure, Westfall and the non-wing field at Kokomo will be the support class for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Certainly no stranger to the bullring at Kokomo, Westfall and Ray Marshall own two victories at the speedway over the last two seasons, each occurring during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) competition.
