FOREST, Ohio (June 5, 2023) – It was another productive weekend for Pleasant Hill, Ohio’s Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, not only adding another top-ten to their fast growing list of accomplishments, but doing so at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, June 3.
Westfall, ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators Inc, Hempy Water, DPI Ink, No. 33M “Bumblebee Express,” finished sixth in his Knoxville visit, powering ahead six positions after starting 12th on the Corn Belt Clash main event grid. Impressive enough, the recent BOSS Series main event winner kicked off his evening with the 10th-fastest time of 32 entries, securing his place in the evening’s USAC National Sprint Cars main event with a runner-up performance during his respective heat race.
With a massive BOSS Series and USAC National Sprint Cars slate on the horizon, Westfall’s Knoxville result will prove beneficial, as June will hit another gear beginning Saturday in Western Pennsylvania.
“Putting together a positive result at a track like Knoxville Raceway is motivating and exciting…it’s a result that will always stand out,” Westfall expressed. “We have a lot on our plate during the next few weeks, but we’re ready to go. Ray Marshall gives us the tools necessary to be successful and we’ve proven that. We’re itching to get that next win.”
ON DECK:
Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2023 agenda with a Pennsylvania Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11, visiting Mercer Raceway and Knox Raceway in consecutive fashion. The team will continue their 2023 USAC National Sprint Cars agenda with the annual Eastern Storm on June 13-18. The six-race slate will begin at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, June 13.
