Wheatley Returning to the Road with World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series
Inside Line Promotions – LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (July 16, 2013) – Austen Wheatley is heading back on the road in the next couple of weeks.
Although a return date isn’t set, Wheatley said he will likely pick up with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Aug. 2-3 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., for the Ironman 55.
The 53rd annual FVP Knoxville Nationals are the following week and Wheatley said the team would probably compete in most of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events and a few select UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions races for the rest of the summer.
“I’m excited to get back out there and race with the best drivers in the country,” he said. “I feel like we had a pretty good run at the Dirt Cup a couple of weeks ago for the first time being in the car in two months, so hopefully I can transition as smoothly with the Outlaws.”
While the team will hit the road for a couple of months, Wheatley will fly back to Washington during the weekdays to continue focus on his apparel company – Downforce Designs.
“Things are really going well for Downforce Designs and I don’t want my racing to take away from the company, so I will fly back each week to put in the time there,” he said. “Downforce Designs has some exciting things to announce in the next couple of weeks as well.”
