VINCENTOWN, N.J. (May 24, 2022) – The end result may have been shy of the overall goal, but Justin Whittall’s performance against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, New Jersey, was head turning, driving on to score a first-ever World of Outlaws heat race victory to lock the Vincentown, New Jersey, native into the evening’s dash. Impressive enough, Whittall launched the program with the eighth-fastest qualifying time of 33 entries.

Lining up eighth on the $10,000-to-win grid, Whittall battled tough, but his night would end 19th in the running order. Suffice it to say, despite the finish, confidence was built for the forthcoming All Star Circuit of Champions Memorial Day Weekend invasion.

“That was pretty exciting, especially in front of our home state fans and friends,” Justin Whittall said of his World of Outlaws heat race victory at Bridgeport. “To get an Outlaw heat win, and to qualify for the dash, really gave us the boost of confidence that we needed, especially with so many big races on our Memorial Day Weekend slate. Hats off to my team…they are the backbone and they continue to work hard.”

In prime position before Mother Nature stepped in, Whittall, driver of the JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, No. 67 sprint car, was leading feature action at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, May 21 when the rain came, ultimately forcing the cancellation with a potential make-up date in the works.

ON DECK:
Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with an action-packed weekend in the Keystone State. Potentially, the team will participate in four events over the holiday weekend kicking off with a $5,000 battle at Selinsgrove Speedway on Thursday, May 26. Whittall’s schedule will continue with the $10,000-to-win Randy Wolfe Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 27, followed by the two-day Bob Weikert Memorial ($10,000 and $29,000) at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29. The events at Williams Grove and Port Royal will be sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions.
