Arctic Cat All Stars Set for Florida Invasion

INDIANAPOLIS (February 2, 2016) – The stars and cars of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will hit the dirt for the first time in 2016 on Friday evening, February 5, in sunny north central Florida. The traveling Arctic Cat All Stars will compete in a total of four events during their Florida venture, co-headlining such programs as the 5th annual Bubba Army Winter Nationals and the 45th annual DIRTcar Nationals.

After an open practice date on Thursday, February 4, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, led by six-time and defending series champion Dale Blaney, will officially launch their 2016 campaign with back-to-back programs on Friday and Saturday, February 5-6, at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. Race teams will attempt to not only capture the $5,000 top prize being awarded each night, but also work to end Kerry Madsen’s winning streak at the Ocala oval. The “Madman” swept All Star Circuit of Champions competition during the Bubba Army Winter Nationals in 2015.

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their tour through the “Sunshine State” less than a week later at the Volusia Speedway Park near Barberville, Florida. Similar to their Ocala visit, teams will participate in an open practice on Tuesday evening, February 9, followed by two consecutive nights of DIRTcar Nationals competition on Wednesday and Thursday, February 10-11. The Arctic Cat All Star doubleheader will kick-off a five-day stretch of 410 sprint car action during the DIRTcar Nationals, with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars headlining the last three events on February 12-14. Greg Hodnett and Daryn Pittman earned All Star victories during the 2015 edition of the DIRTcar Nationals.

“We are all pretty excited to get the season started in a few days,” said Don Grabey, Series Director of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.  “With the snow and cold weather up north, there’s no better cure than Florida in February for sprint car teams and fans.”

About the All Star Circuit of Champions:

All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing.  Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first ‘outlaw’ Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Indianapolis (November 19, 2015) – The All Star Circuit of Champions will move ahead into the 2016 season with a full slate of scheduled competition, with race dates ranging from early February until late October. “America’s Series” will headline 51 dates during the new year, visiting seven different states and nearly 30 different facilities along the east coast, Northeast and Midwest. As traditional, the All Star Circuit of Champions will begin their new campaign in the “Sunshine State” during the early weeks of February, showcasing talent on February 5-6 at Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala, Florida, as well as on February 10-11 at Volusia Speedway Park near Barberville, Florida. The four Florida dates will coincide with the annual Bubba Army Winter Nationals and DIRTcar Nationals.

“We are really excited about next year’s schedule, we’ve added seven tracks to slate in 2016,” said Tony Stewart, owner of the All Star Circuit of Champions.  “I can’t wait to get to Ocala and Volusia in less than three months and I know many of our teams feel the same way.”

The All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their 2016 campaign with a busy spring stretch consisting of 15 events between March 26 and June 11. The Series will visit dirt venues in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin during the early months of 2016, all before transitioning into the newest edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek in late June. Spring travel plans include a Friday, May 20th appearance for the first time at the Lincoln (Illinois) Speedway.

The 34th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek will return to the All Star headlines between June 17 and June 25, kicking off with action at Attica Raceway Park. Speedweek competitors will hit the Ohio dirt on nine consecutive occasions, visiting nine different facilities all across the “Buckeye State.” Ohio Sprint Speedweek will conclude with a $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday, June 25, at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio.

All Star competition will resume immediately after Ohio Sprint Speedweek. The 2016 schedule boasts a busy second half season, which includes returning to areas of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Competitors will also experience a taste of Indiana soil during the downhill segment of 2016, visiting Kokomo Speedway for the two-day “Dirt Classic Indiana” on July 22-23. A scheduled stop to the Brownstown Speedway is also on the late season agenda.

Adding even more excitement to the 2016 season, the All Star Circuit of Champions will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the United States Auto Club (USAC) during Eldora Speedway’s Four Crown Nationals in late September.  All Star competitors will take to the Eldora Speedway half-mile on Saturday, September 24, becoming Eldora’s fourth open wheel division for the weekend spectacle. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will open the two-race weekend with action on Friday, September 23, followed by all three USAC national divisions and the All Stars on Saturday, September 24.

A full weekend at Atomic Speedway will conclude the 2016 All Star championship schedule. “America’s Series” will invade the Chillicothe, Ohio, high banks for the final time next season on October 21-22 for two complete programs. The Friday night portion will award a $5,000 winner’s share, followed by the 2016 All Star Circuit of Champions finale on Saturday night worth $20,000.

“Our hats off to all the teams, fans, partners, track owners and promoters that helped make the ownership transition this past year so smooth for us,” Stewart said. “We are just one piece of the equation to help continue to grow 410 racing around the country.”

National Open Benefit final numbers and allocation release

Showers and chilly temperatures reeked havoc on the this year’s Williams Grove National Open, but it wasn’t a total loss.
Despite Saturday’s $50,000 finale getting washed out and moved to Sunday, the R&R Enterprises National Open Benefit pressed on under dreary conditions and reached a record high for the extravaganza.
A solid fan turnout braved the conditions for the Barbeque lunch and auction. When the numbers were finally tabulated, the benefit raised a record-breaking $47,000, which will be divided between six charities.
The total broke the previous mark of $34,000, which was set last year. Since 2012, the National Open Benefit has raised $129,000.
“It’s absolutely amazing what we have been able to do over the last few years with raising money for these charities across the country,” said Kolten Gouse, organizer of the National Open Benefit.
“This year’s success is truly a testament to all the fans, volunteer workers, race teams and sponsors that have supported this event.”
The World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund, York County Racing Club and Steve King Foundation will receive $12,000 each. The Kevin Swindell Recovery Fund will garner $5,000 of the money raised, with the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund and Eastern Museum of Motor Racing getting checks for $3,000 each.
“We had the worst forecast possible during the National Open weekend and to be able to set a record … I’m at a loss for words,” Gouse said. “Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s event and made it great.”
Sprint Car legend Brad Doty was in attendance at this year’s event. Other highlights were raffles on the Brian Brown helmet raffle and 2016 Polaris Four Wheeler. Winning tickets for both raffles will be drawn Nov. 9.

Fremont, Ohio (July 3rd, 2015) – For the first time in series history, the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title organization will visit a venue other than Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. The JLH General Contractors F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series presented by Engine Pro will venture to the Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio on Saturday evening, July 4th and will co-headline the 4th Annual ‘Bob Reynolds Memorial’ program. The inaugural visit to the Waynesfield bullring will feature a $1,000-to-win main event for the ‘305’ sprinters; adding to an already impressive schedule of competition on the Saturday night card which also features the K&L Ready Mix ‘360’ Sprint Invaders who will battle for a $7,500 top prize.

“We are really excited for this opportunity” said F.A.S.T. series promoter, Rich Farmer, “This is the first time in our series history that our guys will have the chance to race at a facility outside of our normal Attica/Fremont circle. Our ‘305’ division is deep and very competitive. They deserve an opportunity to showcase their talent and hard work in front of a different fanbase. I want to thank the entire staff at Waynesfield Raceway Park for allowing this to happen. The ‘Bob Reynolds Memorial’ is turning into one of the premier ‘360’ sprint car shows in the region and for our guys to be a part of that tradition is special.”

Bobby Clark is the current JLH General Contractors Fremont/Attica Sprint Title ‘305’ Championship Series presented by Engine Pro point leader moving into the event at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The one-time F.A.S.T. ‘305’ winner in 2015 holds a 14 point lead in the current championship over fellow one-time winner, Jordan Ryan. Alvin Roepke finds himself third in the standings entering the ‘Bob Reynolds Memorial,’ followed by Steve Rando and Ricky Peterson.

The F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series has already moved beyond the halfway point of the 2015 season with five events contested, resulting in five different main event winners. Only four events remain on the 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘305’ schedule after their visit to Waynesfield Raceway Park. Bobby Clark, Jordan Ryan, T.J. Michael, John Ivy, and Jamie Miller have all been victorious with the series in 2015. Despite Mother Nature’s attempt to crush multiple events, only one has been lost due to weather thus far in 2015.

Waynesfield Raceway Park pit gates are scheduled to open at 2:30 on Saturday, July 4th, with main stands opening at approximately 3:30. Competition is set to begin at 7:00. For more information, please visit Waynesfield Raceway Park live on the web at www.waynesfieldmotorsportspark.com.

Indianapolis, IN (June 30th, 2015) – After spending a week on the road in the state of Ohio, the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions will move ahead and continue their 2015 campaign with three full nights of open wheel competition during the upcoming Independence Day weekend. The UNOH All Stars will compete in three events at two different venues this weekend; covering areas between western Pennsylvania and western Ohio. The regional traveling series will visit the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania to help ignite the three-race weekend, followed by a trip west to the Millstream Speedway near Findlay, Ohio. The UNOH All Stars will spend two days at the Mercer short track on Friday and Saturday, July 3rd & 4th, with a one day visit planned to the Millstream Motorsports Complex, the home of Millstream Speedway, on Sunday, July 5th. All three nights will feature full UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions programs. The Friday night main event at Mercer Raceway Park will be worth $3,000, followed by back to back $5,000 paydays on Saturday and Sunday at Mercer and Millstream.

“We are truly excited to be a part of the holiday weekend at Mercer Raceway Park and Millstream Speedway” said UNOH All Star series owner Tony Stewart, “There is sprint car tradition and history at both facilities and anytime you can be a part of that is special. Western Pennsylvania has a lot of great competitors and we’ll continue that rivalry this weekend. We are privileged enough to be on the Millstream Speedway schedule this year after their reopening. We had a weather conflict during our last scheduled appearance so we’ll keep our fingers crossed. This has the potential to be a great holiday weekend for our racers and fans.”

Mercer Raceway Park last hosted the UNOH All Stars back on Saturday evening, May 2nd. It was Chad Kemenah earning the $5,000 top prize. The pilot of the Hunter Racing, Seneca Energy Corp, Brilex ‘10H’ held off Red Lion, Pennsylvania’s Cody Darrah and Dalton, Ohio’s Lee Jacobs for his first series win of 2015. Western Pennsylvania regulars Jack Sodeman, Jr. and Ed Lynch, Jr. completed the top-five. The talent-filled UNOH All Star roster will once again battle the best that western Pennsylvania has to offer; attempting to keep the Mercer regulars out of victory lane. The UNOH All Stars have not yet visited the Millstream Speedway in 2015. Their last scheduled appearance at the half-mile dirt oval on Sunday, May 31st was moved to Sunday, September 27th due to inclement weather conditions.

Dale Blaney will lead the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions charge into the holiday weekend. The Hartford, Ohio native stands on top of the series standings with a 163 point cushion over Cody Darrah entering Friday’s program at Mercer Raceway Park. Blaney has six UNOH All Star main event victories thus far in 2015, while also accumulating an impressive 16 top-five and 22 top-ten finishes. Darrah, a one-time winner during UNOH All Star competition in 2015, rides along second in the championship standings, ahead of three-time series winner in 2015 and Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket champion, Greg Wilson. Chad Kemenah and Sheldon Haudenschild round out the top-five in the current UNOH All Star championship standings.

Greg Wilson is the most recent UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions main event winner in 2015; conquering Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Thursday, June 25th. The pilot of the familiar Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, ‘W20’ held off Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney for his third win of the year. The Thursday night program would eventually become the 2015 Ohio Sprint Speedweek finale due to weather interrupting the final two stops on the nine-race schedule. Wilson, a  Benton Ridge, Ohio native, earned two series victories during his Speedweek campaign; ultimately earning the 2015 Ohio Sprint Speedweek championship. Dale Blaney finished second in the final Speedweek standings, followed by Sheldon Haudenschild, Chad Kemenah and Tim Shaffer.

“We are excited to get back to Mercer this weekend” explained Speedweek champion, Greg Wilson, “It’s a place where I’ve struggled quite a bit in the past, but we are looking forward to changing that this Friday and Saturday. We have a little bit of extra momentum on our side now and a little bit of luck. We have some new ideas that we want to try so we’ll work that into our game plan this weekend. Mercer has a nice facility and I’m sure the stands will be packed. We hope to put ourselves in a good position on both nights and keep this positive streak going.”

To learn more about the two-day marquee event at Mercer Raceway Park, such as ticket prices, schedule of activities and track information, please visit Mercer Raceway Park live on the web at www.mercerracewaypark.com. Gate times are set for 4PM, with racing slated to begin at 6PM.

The Sunday night program at Millstream Speedway is set to begin with their ‘Infield Fan Fare’ at 1PM. Entertainment including a cornhole tournament and live music from The Brent Lowry Band is planned for much of the afternoon. The UNOH All Stars are scheduled to hit the racing surface for hot laps at 6PM.

“The weather looks great for the weekend so we may finally get to see some racing at Millstream” said Greg Wilson, “Millstream Speedway is just a few minutes from home. It is the closest facility to our shop. We have actually won a few races there so that makes it even more motivating to get back there. I think people will be really surprised when they get there and see how much work was actually put into the facility. It’s such a fun race track, too. It’s big, but it races like a short track; multiple grooves and usually a great show.”

Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years.  Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.  The 2015 schedule includes 54 events in Ohio (29), Pennsylvania (14), Florida (5), Michigan (3), Indiana (1), New York (1) and Wisconsin (1).

Indianapolis, IN (June 18th, 2015) – In nearly 24 hours, the 33rd Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket will officially launch; bringing together nine consecutive UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions programs across the great state of Ohio. The 2015 edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek will visit eight different facilities during the nine day tour while welcoming not only all of the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions regulars, but also a dominate force of local and regional contenders. Speedweek competitors will race for no less than $5,000 during their trek across the ‘Buckeye State,’ with the grand finale showcasing a $10,000 top prize on June 27th.

“It’s definitely a special week” said Dale Blaney; defending speedweek champion and current All Star point leader, “I’ve been around it my entire life…even clear back when it started in 1983…it’s a fun week, but it can also be a stressful week.”

In addition to the prize money being awarded at each event, the Ohio Sprint Speedweek presenting sponsor Cometic Gasket will also award a $3,000 point fund to the top-ten point finishers at the conclusion of the week, as well as a potential $25,000 bonus to any driver who can win five of the nine scheduled events.

“Anytime there is bonus money up for grabs is a great thing and we appreciate it” said Dale Blaney, “It gets people talking and it gets a lot of people involved…hopefully we can get all nine nights in and give someone the opportunity to win the bonus money…a lot of guys are coming in to race this deal…it’s going to be tough to win five…you have to win one before you can win five.”

Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket will launch on Friday evening, June 19th at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. After their visit to the Attica oval on Friday night, speedweek travels will make their way to the historic Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday evening, June 20th. ‘The Big E’ has been a staple of grassroots racing since its opening in 1954. The world-famous half-mile oval will host one night of speedweek competition before travelers turn their attention towards the Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio on Sunday, June 21st.

On Monday evening, June 22nd, Ohio Sprint Speedweek competitors will face eastern Ohio’s Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. The schedule will move even further east on Tuesday, June 23rd as speedweek moves ahead to the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. The Wayne County Speedway and Sharon Speedway mini-swing will be the last time Ohio Sprint Speedweek visits the eastern edge of the ‘Buckeye State’ in 2015.

The Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio will welcome speedweek fans and racers on Wednesday evening, June 24th; the lone south-central stop during the nine-day trek across Ohio. From there, teams will move north to the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio for the first of two scheduled events on Thursday evening, June 25th. The Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio will have their share of speedweek on Thursday, June 26th. The Lima bullring will host the last stop on the speedweek schedule before racers return to Fremont Speedway for the finale on Saturday, June 27th. The Fremont Speedway finale will feature a $10,000 payday.

Dale Blaney will lead the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions into Ohio Sprint Speedweek. ‘The Lowrider’ is the current All Star point leader; earning three victories with the series thus far in 2015, as well as an impressive 12 top-five finishes. The Hartford, Ohio native has 118 career UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions victories and is the all-time win leader.

Former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series regular Cody Darrah has been an ‘All Star’ force during the 2015 season and will enter Ohio Sprint Speedweek second in the series standings. The Red Lion, Pennsylvania native has one victory with ‘America’s Series’ during the present year and will chase after a career-first Ohio Sprint Speedweek title beginning tomorrow night.

Chad Kemenah and Hunter Racing will enter the 2015 edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek third in the All Star standings. The former UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions title holder is a one-time winner with the regional travelers thus far this season and will hunt for a second-career Ohio Sprint Speedweek title beginning at Attica Raceway Park. Kemenah earned his first speedweek title in 2002.

Other UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions teams expected to be in competition during all of Ohio Sprint Speedweek include Pennsylvania native and 2015 series winner Ryan Smith; Ohio native Sheldon Haudenschild; former All Star series champion Greg Wilson; 2010 Knoxville Nationals champion and former All Star champion Tim Shaffer; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native Danny Holtgraver; recent series winner and Kokomo, Indiana native Parker Price-Miller; as well as Caleb Helms, Andrew Palker, Danny Smith, and Travis Philo.
