$16,000 is on the line this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 6th, 7th, and 8th, in Pontoon Beach, Illinois; as the USAC Mopar National Midget Series will be rolling into Tri-City Speedway for the 3rd annual Gold Crown Midget Nationals. The Gold Crown will feature two preliminary nights of action on Thursday and Friday; with Saturday night acting as the finale- boasting a $10,000 pay day to the champion of the event.
Thursday and Friday evening’s will feature a $3,000 to win, $300 to start, USAC midget feature; along with a $2,000 to win, $200 to start, non-wing 410 sprint car program. Even during the $10,000 to win, Gold Crown Midget Nationals finale on Saturday evening, the 410 non-wing sprint cars will be on the card as the support class; giving sprint car fans the ultimate Tri-City Speedway experience! Racing is set to start at 7:00PM each evening.
Some of the best midget drivers in the country plan to be in attendance and have already preregistered. Some of those drivers already on the list include: Hunter Schuerenberg, Chris Windom, Darren Hagen, Jerry Coons Jr., Dave Darland; recent World of Outlaws fill-in, Brad Sweet; and recent Four Crown Nationals Champion in all three USAC national divisions- Kyle Larson.
