Jared Miley Racing will finally make its 2012 debut this Saturday evening during the ‘UFO’ sanctioned “Chiller Thriller” at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The super late models will make their lone appearance of 2012 at the 3/8’s mile bullring this weekend; giving Mercer fans an opportunity to witness another top-notch Western Pennsylvania class. This weekend’s scheduled “Chiller Thriller” is also the first race of MRP’s 2012 season!
Miley’s plan to kick-off the season last Saturday evening at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland was haulted by weather. Wet and rainy conditions flooded most of the Mid-Atlantic region; leaving most tracks in the upper northeast with no choice but to cancel. With super late model action still limited in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, Mercer Raceway Park will definitely be the place to be Saturday night for late model enthusiasts. The UFO main event on Saturday will pay $3,000 to the winner.
“Mercer’s Chiller Thriller will kick off the 2012 UFo season, as it has in recent years. Mike Knight, of Ripley, NY, claimed the 2010 edition, but the 2011 event was lost due to inclement weather. Because Mercer will be hosting the only Super Late Model race the final weekend in March, a full field of top drivers is expected.”

Jared Miley is certainly no stranger to UFO action; as the team competed on an ‘almost’ full-time basis with the series in 2011. The South Park, Pennsylvania native ended his 2011 UFO season third in the overall standings; while also earning wins at Tyler County Speedway and Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.
“Its about time!” explained Matt Miley who is the crew chief on the JMR H1, “We wanted to race last weekend but the rain obviously didn’t allow that to happen…we all have that itch…we are ready to get the season rolling.”
Gates for the “Chiller Thriller” will swing open at 4 p.m., and racing will begin at 7 p.m.
