Joe Martin in action at Sharon Speedway

6-13-12) Ringgold, Pennsylvania native and Fully Injected crate late model competitor, Joe Martin, has steadily moved up in the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series ranks since the beginning of the season. A few cases of bad luck and ‘wrong place at the wrong time’ plagued the JM2 Motorsports team early on in the 2012 season, but things have slowly switched and returned to the team’s favor.  The Martin Farms/Wylie Race Cars ’55’ currently sits 8th in the FASTRAK Northeast standings entering this weekend’s schedule of events, and looks to climb even higher in the standings as the year continues. The JM2 Motorsports team, which stands for Joe Martin Motorsports, finished ninth in their most recent FASTRAK Northeast sanctioned start at Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 8th. The series will pick back up and return to action with the series this Saturday night, June 16, at McKean County Raceway near East Smethport, Pennsylvania.

“We aren’t real crazy about where we stand right now but we will get better” explained Chunk Martin, crew chief for his brother, Joe Martin, “We are still learning a lot this year about our new Wylie Race Car…we want to win, though… that is for certain!”

The JM2 Motorsports crate late model operation will visit Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on Friday night, July 15, for a round of regular ‘weekly’ action. Many Western Pennsylvania tracks host weekly FASTRAK action to allow teams to participate and weekly racing when not on the road with the Touring Series. On Saturday night, June 16th, Martin will pack up and venture north to McKean County Raceway for a $1,200-to-win FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series event. Joe Martin will look to earn his first touring series win of the 2012 season Saturday night. A third place finish at Sharon Speedway near Hartford, Ohio stands as the best finish for the Martin Farms/Wylie Race Cars ’55’ in FASTRAK Northeast sanctioned competition. The team has visited victory lane in weekly competition in 2012; earning a win at Dog Hollow Speedway in Indiana County.

“We want to climb higher in the points…top 5’s and top 10’s will do that…but wins will assure it!”
