Mechanical Failure Shortens Season Debut for Zearfoss
Pleased with Performance until Issue
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, Pa. (March 14, 2016) – Despite a little bad luck and a minor engine issue, Brock Zearfoss made the most of his 2016 debut and already looks forward to returning to action in Central Pennsylvania this Friday and Saturday. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native will attempt to “restart” his season on Friday evening, March 18, with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
“It was our first night out, so a lot of things can go undetected” Zearfoss explained, “I think we had a competitive car, but I started to hear something wrong with the motor during the feature. After pulling off, we started to go over everything and discovered an issue with one of the fuel nozzles. We were pretty disappointed, but not a lot I can do. We’ll start fresh on Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway opener.”
Brock Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, No. 3Z, kicked-off his new season with action at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., on Saturday night, March 12, joining a competitive field of 410 sprinters for the $3,500-to-win season opener. The “Jonestown Jet” launched the evening program with a fifth place finish during heat race action after starting seventh on the grid, ultimately resulting in seventh row starting position for the 25-lap main event. Despite only completing eight out of the 25 scheduled circuits due to engine trouble, Zearfoss found himself battling for a top-ten finish. Needless to say, the team was happy with their car’s handling and performance, showing future promise for the Jim Shuttlesworth/Brock Zearfoss duo.
“We had a solid night up until that point” Zearfoss explained, “I was really happy with how the car felt. We showed a lot of speed and that is really motivating. That was the first time Jim Shuttlesworth and I worked together, and we were able to work well and communicate. Unfortunately, our night got cut short, but we are both excited to get back to Port Royal on Saturday and pick up where we left off.”
Brock Zearfoss will return to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, March 19. The familiar No. 3Z has been hot at the “Speed Palace” in the past, finishing on the podium against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during the 2015 Tuscarora weekend.
