By Fully Injected Motorsports:
CARLISLE, Pa. (August 8, 2022) – In perhaps the most demanding main event of the season, and on a challenging, elbows up surface to boot, CJB Motorsports and Spencer Bayston put together a motivating performance, capping the 55-lap, $20,000-to-win Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, with a tenth-place score, advancing two positions and bettering their Friday night preliminary effort by one spot.
As noted, Bayston kicked-off Ironman 55 weekend with an 11th-place rally on Friday, August 5, tackling a technical surface to advance from 17th on the grid.
Despite missing the top of the podium, the Lebanon, Indiana, native and ace of the TrueTimber, Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car is as confident as ever heading into the coveted Knoxville Nationals.
“We’ve spent these last few weeks preparing for one of the biggest events of the season, and although we haven’t had great success…as great as we want…our heads are in a great place heading into the Nationals,” Bayston explained, a two-time World of Outlaws winner this season. “Both nights at Pevely served up technical race tracks and called for substantial changes that we haven’t experienced much this season. But, rolling into Knoxville with a car that we know is successful at this track keeps our expectations and confidence high. This is our biggest week of the season and we’re more than ready to get going.”
ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the coveted Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Thursday through Saturday, August 10-13; Saturday’s feature will award $175,000-to-win and $10,000-to-start.
