2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Eighth | 8,132 points [ 620 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

CARLISLE, Pa. (October 17, 2022) – Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports did everything they could to continue their consistent ways during the recent weekend, but their trips to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska, and Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, ultimately concluded outside of the top-ten. Despite the poor luck and frustration, the team did have a silver lining, eventually highlighting the Midwest pair with a Hard Charging performance at Lakeside on Saturday, October 15.
Bayston, who remains eighth in the World of Outlaws standings, charged ahead eight positions in his Saturday night campaign, technically commencing his efforts from the Last Chance Showdown before ending the A-Main 14th in the running order.
One night prior at I-80 Speedway, Bayston was well on his way to a top-ten outcome, that until a hiccup in turns three and four sent the Lebanon, Indiana, native on a wild ride; he was uninjured.
“We had a full package Friday night and I think we were solid enough to lock up another top-five or top-ten result…I just had some issues and it’s a shame things had to end the way they did,” said Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Signing Day Sports, Bubbly Brands, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car. “To rebound like we did on Saturday and hard charge through the field is really motivating. As much as we are trying to finish these last few weeks strong, we are experimenting as well…trying to lock down our package for next year. I think we learned a lot on Saturday and we now know a little bit more about the configurations we’ve been working on.”

Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a return to the Keystone State, entering the 60th annual Champion Racing Oil National Open on Saturday, October 22. The famous battle between the Outlaws and PA Posse pays out $75,000-to-win and will be contested at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
