BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 24, 2022) – Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing put on a show Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and although the team was not victorious in the $75,000-to-win blockbuster, their efforts were just as honorable, ending the evening just outside of the top-ten after navigating the Last Chance Showdown.
Schatz, driver of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Digital Ally, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, was forced to compete in the consolation Last Chance Showdown after mechanical issues plagued the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion during heat race competition. A heat race “DNF,” which ultimately led to an engine change, sent Schatz to the Last Chance Showdown. Starting from the pole, Schatz went on to win, allowing the Fargo, North Dakota, native to start 21st on the 40-lap feature grid; he would power on to finish 11th.
Despite the mechanical hiccup, Schatz remains fourth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, padded by three victories on the year, as well as a head turning 53 top-ten finishes in 66 contested A-Mains.
Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the season-ending World Finals on November 2-5 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. The Greatest Show on Dirt will be joined by the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series and Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds for one huge weekend to conclude the 2022 season.
Donny Schatz and Tony Stewat/Curb-Agajanian Racing would like to thank all of their marketing partners: Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Digital Ally, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts.
