Brent Marks Rallies for Positive Finishes During Memorial Day Weekend

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (May 31, 2016) – The “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks lived up to his label during Memorial Day weekend, charging through the feature field on two, separate occasions for top-ten finishes. Brent Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, Wolfrun Landscapes, Roadrunner Race Fuels, No. 19M, put on passing clinics with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and the “Pennsylvania Posse” during the long, holiday weekend, advancing 26 positions in just two main events.
“I think the results made our weekend look better than what it actually was,” explained Marks. “We had some mechanical issues that plagued us most of the weekend. That put us behind the ball. Fortunately, I have an amazing group of guys that work their butts off and never give up. Their support and continuous effort allowed us to stay in the hunt all weekend. We had to drive forward from deep, but we made it happen. Excited to get back to work this weekend.”
Brent Marks entered three events during Memorial Day weekend, kicking things off with World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series action at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. Marks rallied 11 positions with the World of Outlaws during feature action, climbing from 18th on the grid to finish 7th. It was his third top-ten finish of the 2016 season with the “Greatest Show On Dirt.”
Memorial Day weekend action continued on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. After finishing 16th during the Bob Weikert Memorial opener on Saturday night, the “Myerstown Missile” rebounded for a top-ten performance on Sunday, advancing 15 positions to finish 5th after starting 20th. The result was good enough to earn Marks the Hard Charger Award, as well as an automatic starting position in the Bob Weikert Memorial finale on Monday, May 30. That event would later be cancelled due to weather.
Up next on the schedule is a trio of events in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Brent Marks Racing will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, on Friday, June 3, followed by back-to-back nights of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5. Marks will join the traveling All Stars on Saturday at the Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, followed by an appearance at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania, to end the weekend on Sunday.
“Next weekend will be busy, that is to say the least,” explained Brent Marks. “Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can make our way to Ohio on Friday. Should be an exciting weekend. We love to travel and we love to race with the best in the business. The upcoming weekend will have plenty of that.”
