GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 31, 2016) – Danny Dietrich entered three consecutive events at two Central Pennsylvania ovals during Memorial Day weekend, accumulating one top-five and two top-ten finishes by the time the holiday settled. The highlight of the weekend occurred on Sunday night, May 29, when the Gettysburg native charged from 12th to finish second at Port Royal Speedway, one spot shy of a $10,000 payday.

“We had a fun weekend. Can’t thank my guys enough for allowing all of this to happen,” explained Danny Dietrich. “If we keep ourselves in the hunt like this, more wins will come. To win races, you have to keep yourself in good position and have the ability to pass race cars. We showed both of those this weekend. We’ll spend a few days at the shop and get ready for another big weekend.”

Danny Dietrich kicked-off his Memorial Day triple-header with an eighth place finish at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, May 27. “Double-D” has been a regular competitor at the world famous facility, inching closer toward a 2016 track championship.

The Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 entry continued Memorial Day weekend action on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, taking part in the Bob Weikert Memorial Sprint Car Spectacular. Danny Dietrich recorded a seventh and second place finish during competition at the “Speed Palace,” with his runner-up performance being the result of a charge from row six.

“We were close,” said Dietrich. “That had to be exciting for the fans. Anytime you can race your way forward like that says a lot about your race team. Hats off to the track for preparing a surface that allows racing like that.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2016 campaign with a Pennsylvania triple-header this Friday through Sunday, June 3-5. Dietrich will visit Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, followed by a return to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday.
