Cody Bova Begins 2016 FAST Campaign Friday at Attica Raceway Park

STRUTHERS, Ohio (April 18, 2016) – Cody Bova will begin his 2016 JLH General Contractors FAST 305 Series presented by Engine Pro campaign on Friday night, April 22, at Attica Raceway Park. Bova, who will enter the FAST 305 Series season with a Mercer Raceway Park track championship under his belt, will hunt for rookie honors with the traveling 305 sprint car series in 2016, as well as a career first FAST feature victory.
The FAST opener at Attica Raceway Park will open a schedule comprised of 14 events in three different states, all of which accumulating points toward the $2,500 overall championship. Bova has been preparing for his first season under the FAST 305 Series banner for weeks; most recently entering action at Attica Raceway Park during non-FAST action to help dial-in his familiar Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, No. 20B.
“We’ve been waiting for this since last fall,” explained Cody Bova regarding the 2016 FAST 305 Series campaign. “I’m pretty excited to get started. We have a long road ahead of us, but it all starts on Friday night. The expanded FAST schedule has us doing a lot of traveling this season. This is a perfect stepping stone for my open wheel career. I just want to thank all of those who made this possible. My family has always been behind me, as well as all of my sponsors. We hope to make a great impression on the road this year and become the top rookie.”
Bova’s upcoming weekend will be comprised of two FAST 305 Series events, with action continuing on Saturday, April 23, at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. The Struthers, Ohio, native will enter the FAST doubleheader with two 2016 starts to his record, highlighted with a 14th place finish during his first ever feature start at Attica Raceway Park on Friday night, April 15.
Bova followed up his Attica visit with action at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 16. After winning his respective heat race, Bova started sixth during the main event, but would retire early due to mechanical issues.
“We don’t have a lot of track time under our belt yet this year, but that won’t keep us from working as hard as we can to get up front,” said Cody Bova. “Despite our results this past weekend, we’ll be ready to go on Friday. We have a lot of positive support on our side. Our goal is to race as hard as we can and represent our home track and fans the best we can.”
