Cody Bova Earns Win #5 of 2015
Takes Command of Mercer “305” Point Chase

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Struthers, Ohio (August 17, 2015) – For the fifth time in 2015, and for the fourth time at Mercer Raceway Park, Cody Bova earned his way into “305” sprint car victory lane. Bova, a Struthers, Ohio native who competes regularly at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, earned the “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” main event victory on Saturday night, August 15, at the Mercer short track. “Bonzai” dominated the entire 20-lap main event; leading by a near half-track advantage during certain points of the contest.

After factoring in the recent victory, the driver of the Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, J.S. Paris Excavating, #20B officially reclaimed the top spot in the current Mercer Raceway Park track championship chase. Bova, who now holds a 20 point advantage in the “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” standings, will attempt to earn a career-first championship during the final night of regular season racing on Saturday, August 29.

“That was big” said Cody Bova, “We’ve been on the championship hunt all year, so to be in this position is important. We’ve been up and down this year a little bit, but right now things are going in the right direction. Everyone works really hard and that shows when we have nights like Saturday. The car was great from the start…made my job really easy. I just want to thank my family, my sponsors and everyone who helps our team. Our goal is to win a championship. We’ll see what happens later this month.”

Before entering the final Mercer Raceway Park point race on Saturday, August 29, the familiar Bova Racing #20B team will enter the “Auto Racing For Kids” program at the Mercer venue on Saturday, August 22; featuring multiple weekly divisions racing for large paydays and no points. The 305ci powered “Outlaw Sprint Warriors” will battle for a $1,000 top prize this Saturday night; a perfect segway into the final night of championship point racing on Saturday, August 29.

In addition, Cody Bova will experiment with “410” sprint car competition this Friday night, August 21, at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. “Bonzai” will pilot the Skip Dougherty Racing #27 this Friday night at “The Action Track.” It will be Bova’s second attempt in the “410” ranks; failing to start any form of action last Friday at Lernerville Speedway due to driveline issues. Bova and “S.D.R.” teamed up for multiple “305” sprint car events during the course of the season, while earning one victory in the process. Cody Bova hopes to continue that chemistry this Friday at Lernerville Speedway.

“Can’t thank Skip enough for this opportunity” said Cody Bova, “This is a big step and I couldn’t be more excited. The plan right now is to gain some seat time. We’ll get some laps on Friday and work a little further up the ladder each and every week. Skip and I work well together and I’m sure that will continue with the “410” stuff.”
