GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 28, 2019) – Danny Dietrich’s Memorial Day weekend campaign was impressive, to say the least. Not only did the Gettysburg-native score three consecutive podium finishes in Central Pennsylvania, one of which a victory at the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace,’ but Dietrich activated his long, holiday weekend, officially, with a Tuesday night victory against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, New Jersey.

Impressive enough, Dietrich was forced to hold back ten-time and defending World of Outlaws champion, Donny Schatz, to score his World of Outlaws victory, nearly losing command on the final circuit as the two battled side-by-side through turns one and two.

In a six-day span, Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car, earned two victories and two runner-up finishes. In addition to his $10,000 triumph against the Greatest Show On Dirt in the Garden State, Dietrich also cashed-in for a $10,000 payday at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, May 25, utilizing a late-race restart to power around race-long leader, Logan Wagner, to earn night one of the 2019 Bob Weikert Memorial.

A runner-up finish during the Bob Weikert Memorial finale on May 26 allowed Dietrich to claim the overall Bob Weikert Memorial championship, as well as the coveted bull trophy.

Dietrich kicked-off his Memorial Day, Central Pennsylvania stretch with a runner-up performance during Williams Grove Speedway’s Lynn Paxton Tribute on Friday, May 24.

“I’m exhausted,” Danny Dietrich said, who now owns five World of Outlaws victories over the course of his career . “I can’t say enough about this team right now. I owe everything to those guys. They work their tails off and continue to give me fast, consistent race cars. I don’t think this weekend really set in it. It’s pretty unbelievable to look back and see what we’ve accomplished. All we can do now is look forward and work to continue this streak.”

Danny Dietrich’s upcoming plans remain uncertain. The team will make an announcement regarding weekend destinations in the coming days. Tentatively, the team is scheduled to compete in Central Pennsylvania with visits to Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway on the agenda.
