FOREST, Ohio (June 3, 2019) – Despite a weekend away from competition to allow the team ample time to prepare a brand new DRC Chassis, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports fell right back into successful ways, debuting their new ride with a podium performance at Gas City Speedway in Gas City, Ind., on Friday night, May 31.
In fact, the entire night was a success story for the ‘Bumblebee Express,’ kicking things off at the always-racey, quarter-mile oval with a heat race victory, eventually ending the night with a third place finish behind Corey Smith and three-time winner, Thomas Meseraull. Westfall led the first five circuits of the main event before losing command to the eventual winner.
Unfortunately, Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) non-wing competition scheduled at Oakshade Speedway for Saturday, June 1, was eventually called off due to Mother Nature.
“That was a great way to debut our new car. I’m proud of the team,” Ray Marshall explained, owner of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car. “We’re anxious to continue our trek toward the 2019 BOSS Series championship. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates this weekend and allows that to happen.”
Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2019 BOSS Series obligations at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, on Friday, June 7. The team will end the weekend the following evening at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
