CHICORA, Pa. (June 7, 2021) – As planned, George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports hopped on the Western Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek circuit during the recent weekend, joining the Series during visits to Lernerville Speedway and Sharon Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 4-5. Despite missing the top-ten during each of his weekend outings, kicking things off with a 12th-place score at Lernerville, Hobaugh found success in his own right, eventually capping his two-day schedule with a “hard charge” to finish just shy of tenth at Sharon.
Hobaugh, pilot of the Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car, was forced to hard charge after a heat race incident sent the Chicora, Pennsylvania-native to one of two B-Mains. Hobaugh went on to win his respective B-Main, ultimately ending his night with a rally from 22nd to finish 11th, scoring a $333 bonus for his efforts.
“It was a good way to end the weekend, but it’s hard to be satisfied,” Hobaugh said, a recent winner at Sharon Speedway. “We were hoping to put ourselves in another position to win at Sharon, but things don’t always work out as planned. All we can do is regroup this week and hope for better results this Friday and Saturday. There’s still a lot of season left.”
George Hobaugh and Hobaugh Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with another doubleheader weekend, this time visiting Lernerville Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 11-12. In addition, Hobaugh Motorsports intends on joining the All Star Circuit of Champions at Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, June 15. The Ohio Sprint Speedweek program will award a $6,000 payday.
