Holtgraver Ready for Labor Day Weekend Swing with All Stars
“Downtown” Looks to Score First All Star Win of 2015 Season
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Pittsburgh, PA (August 31, 2015) – “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver will return to “410” sprint car competition this Friday through Sunday with an UNOH All Star triple-header weekend across Ohio. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, who has been an active traveler with the UNOH All Stars since 2011, will follow the tour to Attica Raceway Park and Wayne County Speedway during the upcoming Labor Day weekend, hoping to end his winless streak and earn his first UNOH All Star win of the 2015 season. Holtgraver will visit the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday and Saturday, September 4 & 5, for the “Attica Ambush.” The two-day Attica season finale will feature back-to-back UNOH All Star programs awarding $3,000 on Friday and $5,000 on Saturday. The Labor Day weekend swing will conclude on Sunday, September 6, with a $5,000-to-win program at the Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio.
“Ready to get back to work” said Holtgraver, “I always enjoy getting back to Attica and Wayne County. We’ve had some success out there and I’ve been fortunate enough to win All Star races at each of them. The last few weeks have been great for this team. We found consistency again and we are finding more speed. Anytime you can enter a big weekend like this with a little more confidence is great, too. We’ll try our best to get up front and win one for Tom and Sherry Leidig.”
Danny Holtgraver and the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Southern Pacific Farms, #59 team will enter Labor Day weekend with a pair of recent top-ten finishes during UNOH All Star competition. Holtgraver finished third at the I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan on Friday, August 21. The podium finish was followed up by a tenth place performance at the Butler Speedway near Quincy, Michigan on Saturday, August 22.
Phoenix Racing currently finds themselves eighth in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions standings; earning seven top-five and 15 top-ten finishes in the process. The Florida-based operation owns one victory in 2015, occurring during unsanctioned action at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 8.
“The win was big for us” said Holtgraver, “We’ve been on a pretty good stretch ever since then. It helped us build some confidence back…that is one of the most important elements to this sport.”
