BUTLER, Pa. (February 25, 2024) – Cullen Hutchison’s road trip to the Land of Lincoln ended in perfect fashion, not only concluding the Midwest Winter Nationals at Duquoin State Fairgrounds in Duquoin, Illinois, with a Restricted Micro feature victory, but the 11-year-old out of Butler, Pennsylvania, led every circuit, starting the weekend’s finale from the pole position via heat race triumph.
To make his weekend stat card even more impressive, Hutchison, ace of the BKR, Classic Ink USA Screenprinting & Embroidery, E2 Apparel, Open Joist, No. 21 micro – a first-time competitor at the indoor complex – finished no worse than second in the entire two-day program, kicking off the Midwest Winter Nationals with a runner-up finish on Friday, February 23, concluding heat race competition in the exact same position.
The Duquoin triumph was Hutchison’s first of the season, already looking to add an upcoming trip to Oklahoma to his ever-growing win column.
“It was a great weekend for our BKR team. It was our first time there and to win in our second try is really special,” Hutchison expressed. “It was a total team effort and I couldn’t have done it without them, as well as my family and supporters. We have a big trip to Oklahoma coming up, so the plan is to keep this momentum going and hopefully get another win for BKR.”
ON DECK:
Cullen Hutchison and BKR will continue their 2024 agenda with Port City Raceway’s Milestone Home Services Outlaw Nationals on Thursday through Saturday, March 7-9. Thursday’s agenda will consist of practice, followed by back-to-back nights of racing on Friday and Saturday.
