Mercer, PA (July 23, 2103): This Saturday, July 27, is Meet Your Heroes Night at Mercer Raceway Park. This event, presented by Herr’s, gives every fan the opportunity at intermission to mingle with their favorite drivers to get autographs, pictures, and more! The racing will feature all six of the track’s exciting divisions.

Greenville’s Eric Williams is going for his second championship in the 410 Sprint division, hosted by Luxaire Heating & Cooling, New Wilmington Motors, and Ralph Butch, Inc. He has a slim 13 point lead over Jack Sodeman, Jr., and Scott Priester is only 53 points back. Dan Kuriger and Adam Kekich are fighting for fourth in the championship race. A bit further back are Chris Best, Bob McMillin, Rod George, Gale Ruth, Jr., and John McCracken, Jr. Lurking outside the top ten in the standings are the father and son team of Brandon and Brent Matus. Any of these talented drivers could be the next visitor to victory lane.

Frankie Guidace, of Mercer, leads the way in the Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds. Kyle Fink is on a two-race winning streak, so he will try to chop into the 82 point deficit he faces. Jeff Schaffer, J.R. McGinley, Jimmy Holden, and Lonny Riggs are other strong contenders. Teens Max Smoker and Makayla Guidace are battling for seventh, while Matt Reeher and Shawn Fleeger are fighting for ninth.

Michael Bauer, the Clarion college student, now sits atop the rankings in the Bonnell’s Collision Center Outlaw Sprint Warriors. C.J. Jones moved into second with his last victory, but Joe McEwen and Jimmy Morris are only 19 points behind him. Andy Feil is fifth. A number of other drivers, including Mike Miller, make this one of the most competitive classes at the speedway.

Rusty Moore has a commanding lead in Precise Racing Products Stock Cars. Andy Thompson, Curtis Bish, Garrett Calvert, and Leigh Wheeler present formidable opposition to the New Castle veteran.

Likewise, Rochester’s Shane Pfeuffer has a substantial lead over Cody Bova in the Modified Lites. Jacob Bova, Bill Stivason, Cory Webb and Josh Deems are looking for a large share of the point money put up by Big Daddy’s Speed Center and Rock Concrete.

Jamey Lee, who hails from Fairmont City, has almost a 200 point advantage in his quest for his first Mini Stock title offered by Eperther’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles. Tyler Fulton, Steve Longwell, Sr., Rudy Troples, and Pete Blazak always put forth stiff competition, but tongues have been wagging about the recent winning performances of young Alex Paden.

The gates will open at 4, with practice at 6:30 and racing at 7.

Regular event ticket pricing will apply for this popular event. That means that adults gain admission for $13, seniors (60+) for $11, and students (9-15) for 5. Children (8 and under) will be admitted free. The Family Pass will be $28, and that will admit two adults and up to four minors of any age. Pit Passes will be $25.
