Michael rallies for runner-up finish at Wayne County Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FREMONT, Ohio (August 27, 2018) – Although kicking-off the weekend on a frustrating note, scored 15th during action at Attica Raceway Park, the ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael rebounded in a big way on Saturday, August 25, and rallied from near-mid-pack to finish second at Wayne County Speedway. Michael’s charge to a podium finish started from the outside of row four.

The result, ending with several slide job exchanges for the lead with eventual winner, Jordan Ryan, was important to the Fremont, Ohio, resident via Plano, Texas, aiming to use his Wayne County notebook against the All Stars during the $10,000-to-win Pete Jacobs Memorial on Sunday, September 2.

“That was a lot of fun. I think that race was ours to lose, but we’ll keep our heads up high and move forward. Congrats to my good friend Jordan Ryan. He deserved that one. It ended up being a fun battle to the end,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Cast Stone/Fremont Fence Company/Crown Battery/Kear’s Speed Shop/Hinchman Suits/Big D’s Pizza of Fremont and Clyde/Kistler Racing Engines/Maxim Chassis/Wood Heating & Air Conditioning/Pro Tech Service Company/Wings Unlimited/Shell Shock/No. 8M sprint car. “At least we have some positive momentum on our side heading into Labor Day weekend. Our goal is to do one better against the All Stars next Sunday.”

Up next on the schedule, T.J. Michael will return to competition over Labor Day weekend, ready to join the All Star Circuit of Champions for three events in three days at two different Ohio tracks. Certainly familiar territory, the All Stars will invade Attica Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1, for Attica Ambush weekend, followed by a visit to Wayne County Speedway for the annual Pete Jacobs Memorial. Although no longer full-time with the Series, Michael has joined Tony Stewart’s All Stars on several occasions in 2018, highlighting all attempts with a rally from 12th to finish sixth at Sharon Speedway during Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
