FOREST, Ohio (July 1, 2019) – The long trip east to Western Pennsylvania proved to be well-worth the effort for the Ray Marshall Motorsports operation, not only securing a pair of top-five performances during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) competition on Friday and Saturday, June 28 & 29, but the ‘Bumblebee Express’ also secured a podium run in the process, ending the weekend doubleheader with a second place finish at Michaels Mercer Raceway on Saturday night.

Impressive enough, Matt Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M non-wing sprinter, kicked-off his weekend in the Keystone State with a fourth place finish on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway. Consistent, nonetheless, Westfall started Lernerville’s main event in the exact same position.

“It was a great effort by everyone involved,” Ray Marshall explained, owner of Ray Marshall Motorsports. “Matt [Westfall] did a tremendous job for our team in Pennsylvania. It was our first appearance in that area this year and we enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully we have the opportunity to go back in the future, but for now, we have a lot to prepare for.”

Westfall has been consistent across the map thus far in 2019, owning top-five finishes at Lawrenceburg Speedway, Atomic Speedway, Gas City Speedway, and Moler Raceway Park in addition to his top-fives at Lernerville and Mercer.

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will now set their aim on a trio of events over Independence Day weekend, first rejoining the BOSS Series for the Jack Hewitt Classic at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park on Wednesday, July 3.

Utilizing Thursday as a much needed travel day, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will return to competition on Friday and Saturday, July 5 & 6, anxious to battle the best during Knoxville Raceway’s inaugural BRANDT Professional Agriculture Corn Belt Nationals featuring the USAC National Sprint Cars.

“It should be a fun week,” Westfall said, who finished 14th against a stout USAC field at Eldora Speedway in early May. “I can’t thank Ray Marshall and everyone else enough for this opportunity. We’ve had our share of success this season, but I think it’s time to get a few more wins for this No.33M team.”
