ST. HELENA, Calif. (July 8, 2019) – Despite a tough outing to kick-off his 2019 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek campaign in Pennsylvania Posse Country, finishing 17th during a visit to the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway on Monday, July 1, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu bounced back in a big way and rallied for four consecutive top-ten finishes, highlighting all results with a seventh place outcome during action at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Thursday, July 4.

Abreu’s evening in northern Maryland ignited with the fastest time during qualifying time trials.

“We had a fun trip. Racing with the Pennsylvania Posse is always a fun experience. The racing is competitive and the fans are second to none. We enjoy getting the opportunity to see old friends and make new ones,” Rico Abreu explained, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/No. 24 sprint car. “I’m proud of my team and what we were able to accomplish. Considering the level of competition we were up against every night, earning the results that we did is motivating. I’m excited to see what’s in store for our team down the road.”

Adding to his seventh place run at Hagerstown Speedway, Abreu earned top-ten finishes at Grandview Speedway on July 2, Port Royal Speedway on July 3, and once again at Port Royal’s ‘Speed Palace’ on July 6th, finishing eighth, ninth, and eighth, respectively. Impressive enough, Abreu was forced to rally or maintain position to accomplish all four top-ten appearances, highlighting all accounts with a hard charge from 21st to finish ninth at Port Royal Speedway on Wednesday, July 3.

Padding an impressive resume already assembled in 2019, Abreu’s stretch of four consecutive top-ten results bumped his season total to 22, all of which accomplished in 35 starts.
