Satterlee Earns Winchester 200 Win; DTWC on Deck
First Career Winchester 200 Victory for “The Truth”

Indiana, PA (October 12, 2015) – For the first time in his career, western Pennsylvania’s own Gregg Satterlee visited victory lane during Winchester Speedway’s annual Winchester 200 in Winchester, Virginia on Saturday, October 10; earning $6,500 for his efforts while also securing his fifth super late model victory of the 2015 season. The last few months have been “frustrating” for the Rochester Mills, Pennsylvania, native, with his Winchester 200 triumph being his first victory lane appearance since capturing a win at the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Saturday, July 4. Despite the frustration and hard luck, Satterlee is excited about his recent momentum change and hopes to use it to his advantage this Friday and Saturday during his visit to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.
“Feels great to get this” said Satterlee, “The last few months have been pretty tough on us mentally. The results have been ‘OK,’ but just a little under our expectations. We had to take step back and figure out where the problem was. Obviously things are back on track for us, so we hope that continues. We have a big weekend ahead. We’ll try to use what we’ve learned and keep the momentum alive.”
“The Truth” will spend the upcoming weekend at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, for the 35th annual Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship; one of the most prestigious and sought after super late model programs in the country. The 2015 edition will award $100,000 to the main event winner on Saturday evening, October 17, increased from $50,000 in 2014, with all preliminary competition kicking off on Friday night, October 16. Gregg Satterlee, driver of the familiar Satterlee Petroleum Distributors, Keyser Manufacturing, Valvoline, #22, finished 15th during the 2014 edition of the Dirt Track World Championship; bettering most of the 89 super late models entered for action. Satterlee hopes to better his performance in 2015 and join in on the fight at the front of the field during Saturday’s 100-lapper.
“Anytime you have an opportunity to race for $100,000 is pretty special” said Satterlee, “The level of competition will be as high as it gets and that makes earning a spot in the show even more rewarding. We were fortunate enough to qualify for the Dirt Track World Championship A-main last year and we hope to do it again. Excited to see how the weekend unfolds.”
