WoO STP Sprint Car Series Magic City Showdown on Tap Sunday at Nodak Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – MINOT, N.D. (Aug. 13, 2013) – World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series drivers don’t need any extra incentive to beat North Dakota native Donny Schatz, but there will be some added motivation when the premier sprint car series visits Nodak Speedway on Sunday.
It marks the eighth trip to the Magic City Showdown, which is the final leg of the Gerdau Northern Tour with Sleep Inn & Suites, Magic City Implement and Minot Tourism.
“Minot is a great track,” said Joey Saldana, who won at the 3/8-mile oval in 2010. “Obviously they put a lot of money into that facility and the fans support it. I’ve been able to win a race there and I’ve had a lot of good finishes there. That’s another track I love to race at.”
Not only is it a top-notch facility, Schatz – the defending series champion and reigning Magic City Showdown winner – was born in Minot.
“It’s always nice to be able to beat somebody where they have the most laps,” Cody Darrah said. “But it’s definitely nice to go and beat Donny Schatz anywhere.”
Schatz picked up the emotional victory last season en route to the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship.

Also, spectators can upgrade any ticket to a pit pass for only $10 on race day.
