Danny Dietrich Counts Down to Knoxville

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, PA (August 2, 2016) – For a fourth consecutive year, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich will make the 1000 mile trek west to the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, set to challenge the best sprint car drivers in the world on one of dirt’s biggest stages. The 56th Annual 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores will headline action at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, hosting over 100 competitors during the four-day program, all working for the opportunity to make Saturday night’s $150,000-to-win, A-main starting lineup.

Dietrich, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 entry, qualified for the Knoxville Nationals A-main starting grid in 2015 and finished 15th. It was Dietrich’s first A-main start in three attempts at the Nationals, finishing 16th during B-main competition in 2013 and 2014.

“We’ve been ready to get back to Knoxville since we left there last year,” Dietrich explained. “We had to do things the hard way last year and work our way into the A-main through Friday night’s program. This year, we want to lock ourselves in during our qualifying night. That’s our goal. I have an amazing group of guys who bust their tails to make sure this car is ready to go every time it hits the track. We’ve been working hard preparing for this trip. I’m ready to hit the road.”

Danny Dietrich will have an opportunity to make one Knoxville Raceway start before Knoxville Nationals competition begins on Wednesday, August 10. “Double-D” will travel west early and participate in the Capitani Classic on Sunday, August 7.

Before hitting the road officially, Danny Dietrich and his Gary Kauffman Racing entry will make two starts in Central Pennsylvania. The five-time Central Pennsylvania main event winner thus far in 2016 will visit Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, August 5, and the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, August 6. A full program for the 410 sprinters will be held at The Grove on Friday night, followed by the Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday awarding a minimum of $10,000.

“I just want to thank everyone who supports this team,” Dietrich said. “I have a long list of people who make travel like this possible. It feels great to have the support that we do. We’re all pretty pumped to get out to Iowa and see what we can do.”
