NDRL Shuffles Events to Reschedule Atomic Blast at Atomic Speedway for July 25 and 26
Phoenix, Arizona (May 12, 2014) Officials of the National Dirt Racing League and the Atomic Speedway announced today that the rained out Atomic Blast will be moved to July 25th and 26th utilizing the same format and pay structures. The Roaring Knob Speedway event scheduled for July 25th has been postponed. The series also hopes that the July 26th date originally scheduled at Tyler County Speedway can be moved to another date. “This is the last thing that we wanted to do. But after looking at both schedules and seeing what was available we didn’t have really any options. We love Tyler County and what those guys are doing but economics and our business model dictates that we needed to make a change and get this event at Atomic in. The schedule is just so tight until the end of the year. We are going to work with Tyler to try and find them a suitable date that will fit into both of our schedules.” said NDRL Series Director.
Atomic owner / promoter Brad McCown is happy about the make-up date. “The weather stuff is hard on us. Last weekend was really trying. But we have some great fans and drivers that supported us so we are very happy to be able to work it out to bring the NDRL back and have the race. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in getting this make-up date worked out.” The Atomic Blast will feature a $5,000 to win / 40-lap feature on Friday night, July 25th along with the AMRA Modifieds and the Street Stocks. Saturday, July 26th’s program will carry the same support classes along with a $15,000 to win / 75-lap feature for the NDRL Super Late Models.
