FOREST, Ohio (June 24, 2019) – Despite Mother Nature inflicting havoc on much of the weekend, first wiping out all hope for Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) action in Indiana and Kentucky, followed by a rain-shortened back-up plan, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports still managed to put together a successful campaign in the Hoosier State, concluding all action with a top-five performance during the Jerry Gappens Sr. Memorial at Gas City Speedway on Friday, June 21.

Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M non-wing sprint car, finished fourth during his visit to the Gas City bullring, climbing ahead from the outside of row four to do so. In fact, the fourth place outcome was a second consecutive for the familiar ‘Bumblebee Express’ entry, actually charging from 12th to finish fourth at Lawrenceburg Speedway on June 8.

“Mother Nature has not been too kind in 2019, but we still have a lot of season to go,” Ray Marshall explained, owner of Ray Marshall Motorsports. “We are very happy with how things are going with our team. We tried our best to find some races this weekend, especially after losing each of the BOSS races on the schedule. Luckily for us, Gas City was able to get their program completed. It worked out just fine for us.”

Up next on the schedule, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will make the trek to the Keystone State, anxious to rejoin the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series during competition at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, June 28 & 29, respectively. Westfall owns one BOSS victory in 2019, that occurring on the highbanks of Atomic Speedway in mid-April.
