Engine Trouble Sidelines Bova During Attica’s Opening Night;
Attica Raceway Park and Mercer Raceway Park Next for 20B Team

STRUTHERS, Oh. (March 30, 2016) – Cody Bova opened his 2016 campaign with competition at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Oh., on Saturday evening, March 26, but unfortunately, never had the opportunity to actually compete. The Struthers, Oh., native was sidelined just after 305 sprint car warm-ups as a result of engine trouble.
“That’s not how we wanted to start our season, “ Bova explained. “I pushed out for our heat race and noticed something wrong, so I went back to the pit area hoping that we could get it figured out before the B-main. We took off one of the valve covers and noticed there was an issue. We could have fixed the problem at the track, but we didn’t have the right part. It was really disappointing because we felt great during warm-ups. We’ll throw that night behind us and start fresh this weekend.”
Cody Bova and his Bova Racing, J.S. Bova Excavating, AIMI Product Imagining, LLC., Richardson Tree Service, BC Contracting, Gressman Powersports, No. 20B operation will attempt to restart their 2016 campaign on Friday night, April 1, back at Attica Raceway Park. Not including warm-ups on March 26, Friday will be Bova’s first ever start at the home of “Ohio’s Finest Racing.”
After his Friday night trek across Ohio, Bova’s season will resume on Saturday evening, April 2, with a visit to the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. Bova, the 2015 Mercer Raceway Park track champion, captured a total of five feature victories at the speedway in 2016; a career high for the Ohio native.
“Our original plan was to only race at Mercer this weekend, but after what happened on Friday, we decided to travel back out to Attica,” explained Cody Bova. “We’ll be at Attica a lot this summer for FAST 305 Series events, so we need to take the time to get adjusted. We can’t wait for Friday!”
